Being Yourself. Unapologetically

“I’m not trying to be a normal girl.

I’m not trying to conform or adhere to conventional standards.

I will not apologise for who I am, my thoughts and feelings.

I will not suppress, change or adapt my character to make anyone feel comfortable.”

– Prinny Rae, 2017

This year has been an amazing year for a number of reason, but the best thing above all has been becoming the person that I have always wanted to be.

2017 has been the year of me living my best life and being 100% myself unapologetically. There is an inexplicable type of freedom that is found when you stop apologising for who you are and what you do.

Many people find their identity through things and people, but sometimes you have to strip all of that back and ask yourself who you are without these things. What is the core version of yourself and is it who you want to be! Don’t get me wrong, we all like nice things and we all change our behaviour even slightly depending on our company and environment. But don’t make the change because you feel like you need to do it to feel accepted by people or to fit in. Do it because the environment warrants it and because the change is necessary for your personal growth.

Find what makes you different, what makes you unique, what makes you stand out enough that people remember you once you are gone. Find what makes you so special that people miss you when you are not in their life and realise that no matter how hard they try they can never replace you because you are different for all the right reasons.

This top was a recent purchase from ZARA. I stumbled across this beauty recently on a day I shouldn’t have been shopping for clothes. I loved the floral detail and the fact that it is completely sheer!

TOPSHOP really did well with these trousers. Really makes me feel like I’m an extra in the Wild Thoughts video. It gives you enough flare to feel EXTRA, but it is subtle enough to wear to work – which is what I intend to do.

These are an old pair of shoes I bought from OFFICE last year. I rarely wear them, but looking at these pictures I think I’m going to have to wear them more often.

Unfortunately I couldn’t find the links for any of the items online 🙁
