Last week I had the pleasure of attending the beingU launch event.
beingU is a new lingerie brand focused on delivering diversity in nude shades – essentially giving woman of colour more options for their underwear collection.
Speaking with the founder Sadia I was humbled and inspired by her journey and passion for bringing her vision to life. She cites her daughter as her main inspiration for developing the brand stating that she is determined for her daughter to grow up in a world where all shapes and shades are celebrated.
As a 24 year old female I have never owned nude underwear. I grew up to accept that nude lingerie and tights were only for caucasian skin tones and I learnt to accept that and moved on. This brand excites me and has made me realise that we should strive for inclusion in all areas. I hope that future generations will grow up and will note see nude and synomous for white.
As a new brand I am impressed with diversity in the range. There are a number of different styles to suit different personalities and occasions. I would wear Yendi as my day to day T-Shirt bra, and will save Rosa for a special night perhaps!
The bras come with matching briefs which have been specifically made to account for a more curvaceous derriere.
With sizes ranging from 28-44/B-H cup (availability in sizes vary) and free shipping in the UK what are you waiting for?
Head over to their website and check out more from their collections.
