London Dining 002

Name: Smollensky’s

Location: Canary Wharf

Cost: ££

I have spent many Friday nights enjoying happy hour at Smollensky’s bar, but after a long and somewhat stressful week I decided to have a more relaxing Friday experience and opted to try the restaurant for the first time.

The restaurant is an American Steakhouse providing a significant variety of steak choices – from a rump steak or rib eye to surf and turf.  They also offer a number of alternatives if you are not in the mood for steak, such as burgers, a number of seafood options, chicken dishes and salads. This would be a good place to go if you are dining with a group of people and are undecided about what to eat because I believe there is something for everyone.

I thought the service was very good. The staff were very nice and attentive and went out of there way to make sure that everything was perfect for us (although it wasn’t too busy at the time we were there).

My rump steak was a little salty and I would have appreciated a side salad being part of the dish rather than having to choose between salad and fries.

I wasn’t necessarily blown away but I wouldn’t mind going back to Smollensky’s to try something other than steak. If I do I will probably try the Smollensky’s in Strand as I have heard great things about that one.

Never had the steak at Smollensky’s before but these pics are making me want to try it. I went last weekend and had the bbq rack of ribs with sweet potato fries & I highly recommend that! You get quite a lot for your money and it comes with a side of salad too 🙂 xx
